Studio
Studio Policies.
The standards that keep every Chef Music Records session focused, professional, and creative.
Effective June 24, 2026
These Studio Policies apply to every recording session, mixing session, and artist-development session conducted by Chef Music Records, whether at our recording studio partner or any other Chef Music Records location. By booking a session, you agree to these policies.
Booking Rules
- All sessions are booked through the Chef Music Records Artist Portal.
- Booked time begins at the scheduled start time, regardless of artist arrival time.
- Late arrivals shorten the session — sessions end at their scheduled end time.
- Sessions may be extended only if the following time slot is open and pre-approved.
- Recording sessions are conducted at our partner studio location. Visits to the business affairs office are by appointment only.
Payment Policies
- Sessions must be paid for in full at the time of booking, either by purchase or by applying recording credits.
- All payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers.
- Recording credits are governed by the Recording Credit Policy.
- Receipts are available inside the Artist Portal.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the session: full credit refund to the artist account.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session: credits are forfeited, no refund.
- No-shows are treated as a same-day cancellation and forfeit all session credits.
Rescheduling Policy
- Reschedules requested more than 24 hours before the session are free of charge.
- Reschedules requested within 24 hours of the session may forfeit the original booking.
- Reschedules are subject to studio availability.
Session Conduct
- Be on time, prepared, and ready to record.
- Artists are responsible for the conduct of any guests they bring.
- Excessive guests, disruptive behavior, intoxication, or any behavior that interferes with the session may result in the session being ended without refund.
- No illegal activity is permitted on studio premises.
- Chef Music Records reserves the right to refuse service for conduct that violates these policies.
File Delivery Policy
- Reference mixes (MP3 or WAV) are typically delivered through the Artist Portal after the session is completed.
- Stems, multitracks, and mastered files are delivered based on the services booked.
- Artists are responsible for downloading and backing up delivered files promptly.
- Chef Music Records is not responsible for files that become inaccessible after delivery — see the File Storage & Delivery Policy.
Parking
- Parking is available on-site at our partner recording studio location.
- Chef Music Records is not responsible for vehicles, personal items, or instruments left on the premises.
Intellectual Property
- Artists retain ownership of their original recordings and performances.
- Chef Music Records retains ownership of its productions, beats, instrumentals, mixes, masters, and engineering work unless rights are transferred in a separate written agreement.
- Use of any Chef Music Records-owned instrumental, beat, or production in a commercial release requires a written license.
- Chef Music Records may use approved photos, video clips, and short audio excerpts of sessions for promotional purposes unless the artist opts out in writing in advance.
