Artist Portal
Recording Hours Policy.
How Hours are purchased, expire, and applied to your recording sessions.
Effective June 24, 2026
Chef Music Records uses a simple Hours system in the Artist Portal. Artists purchase Hours, store them in their account, and apply them to recording sessions. This policy explains how Hours work.
Purchasing Hours
- Hours are purchased inside the Artist Portal and stored on the artist's account.
- Hours are converted from dollars at the artist's current hourly rate at the time of purchase.
- Promotional offers (such as the Studio Launch Special) may grant Hours under the separate terms specified in that offer.
Expiration
- Hours expire 90 days after the most recent Hour purchase, promotional Hour addition, or admin Hour adjustment.
- Any qualifying transaction resets the expiration date for the entire account Hour balance.
- Expired Hours are removed automatically and cannot be reinstated.
- Artists receive 30-day, 7-day, and 1-day reminders before Hours expire.
Using Hours
- Hours apply to eligible Chef Music Records recording services available in the Artist Portal.
- Booked time equals used time — Hours are debited based on the booked session length, not actual recording time.
- Hours are forfeited for cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled session and for no-shows.
Refunds & Cash Value
- Hours are nonrefundable.
- Hours are nontransferable.
- Hours have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Forfeiture
- Hours may be forfeited under the cancellation and no-show rules described in the Studio Policies.
- Hours may be forfeited if an account is suspended or terminated for violating the Terms of Use, Studio Policies, or Artist Content & Upload Agreement.
Program Changes
Chef Music Records reserves the right to modify, pause, or end future Hour programs, hourly rates, promotional offers, and the Artist Vault Membership at any time. Existing Hour balances will continue to be honored under the rules in effect at the time of purchase, subject to the expiration rules above.
